Public transportation
Feliz fin de semana! (TGIF) Every weekday I catch the public bus that runs into town. There is no bus schedule. I have learned through trial and error that if I get to the street around 7:00 a.m., a bus will appear between 7:05 and 7:20. Most of the riders are high school students and mothers with babies. It costs 1.5 quetzales for a ride (almost 20 cents). It is better to be IN the bus than OUT of the bus. Pedestrians are fair game. After Spanish class I buy groceries and take a tuk-tuk home. It's an exciting ride on rough cobblestone roads! Today my tuk-tuk driver had to get out and refasten his front wheel. If you have loose teeth, loose change, or anything else that is loose, you do not want to ride in a tuk-tuk. Here is a bus and a tuk-tuk all in one photo.

ReplyDeleteHa ha! Wow! Sounds like an exciting ride no matter what you take! The tuc-tuc is so CUTE! I love that there's no bus schedule either. Sounds like a place I'd fit right in.
