Hola mis amigos! Today is Sunday. We could hear familiar hymns over a church loudspeaker near our casa while we waited for the bus. Antigua, once the capital of Guatemala, is a very old city beautifully designed by an Italian architect and then tragically destroyed by a massive earthquake in 1773. The city wasn't revived until the 20th century. Many of the churches still sit in ruins, tumbled concrete and exposed bricks out of the past. The concrete in Antigua inspires me--on windows, around doors, and on rooftops. This is just one of many ornate doorways in this colorful OLD city. If only they had restored the sidewalks!

It's in concrete
