We're here!
On our first full day in Antigua, our only goal was to successfully find the center of town, Plaza Mayor, on foot. We learned several things in the process. 1) When all the streets look the same and there are few street signs, it is likely that you will walk miles farther than you need to. 2) Cobblestone streets look really pretty, but they are better if they have cement between the stones. 3) Don't expect your taxi driver to know the way back to your house. It took one taxi driver, two shop owners, one street vendor, two Chinese men, and finally the owner of the house (by phone). Tomorrow we will try again. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy these beautiful flowers that hang in the open courtyard of this amazing casa.

Well, I'm glad you're learning while you're on vacation! :) Sounds like you had an adventure. Did you get to the center of town?
ReplyDeleteIt was 14 below this morning, by the way. Your timing couldn't have been better. As Jim and I were shivering in the car, we imagined that you guys were probably sunning yourselves in the courtyard. :)
