Volcano eruptions

The volcano behind our casa is named Agua, and it is dormant.  The volcano west of town, Fuego, is active.  We heard Fuego boom twice last night.  No one seems worried.  Villages on or near the volcano coexist with it. Apparently the ash creates healthier gardens.

This was day 2 of Spanish.  Did you know that there are two "be" verbs in Spanish?  I didn't. There are a lot of words swimming around in my head.  I hope they will organize eventually.  I really enjoy studying the language. After class we ate lunch at a Guatemalan restaurant, then found an outdoor market that goes on for blocks, full of local crafts and produce.  In the photo, some Mayan ladies sell their handiwork.

I don't dare complain about the weather, but it's been a little cool lately.  Today was sunny and warm, however, and that made Buzz very happy : )

  1. Yikes! Sounds exciting! But somehow I think that "cool" isn't really that cool. If it's not below 20 degrees, I don't want to hear about it. :)

  2. Well, you'll be pleased to know that it snowed today! And it's going to be 30 below wind chill tonight and tomorrow morning.
