Shhhh. Be very quiet!
If you are very quiet, you can spot the white-chested gringo resting in his preferred habitat. This particular one has been spotted in this location a number of times. This is a rare bird in many ways. His Panama hooding is unique to his species. Most white-chested gringos have a decorative hemispherical head cover with ear flaps. When at rest, this specimen makes an intermittent sound like a plank being dragged down a rough road. The female of this species has been spotted in the vicinity as well. She is distinguished by a pink face and a tuft of yellow feathers on her head, and she tweets on key. How these birds ever got this far south is a mystery.
